Be SOMEBODY for Groton Elementary School!

This is a little story about Everybody, Somebody, Anybody and Nobody. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody’s job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn’t do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.DON’T LET THIS HAPPEN TO OUR SCHOOL! Come out and see what the GPTO is all about. Everybody and Anybody is welcome in whatever capacity you feel able to participate – be it generating new ideas, helping with a particular event or fundraiser, chairing an event or fundraiser, or receiving emails / phone calls regarding volunteer opportunities. The GPTO Mission is to foster cooperation between the school and home, to provide enrichment programs for children, and to provide a vehicle of fundraising for goals that are beyond the scope of the budget. Come learn what goes on at the school, be a part of something, make a difference, get to know teachers, staff and other parents and, most importantly, GET INVOLVED IN YOUR CHILD’S EDUCATION!There are so many different ways to participate and contribute to your child’s school and their extra-curricular well-being. Anybody can do it! The more Somebodys there are, the less time and energy Everybody has to expend and the more good we can do. Our big goal this year is to fund field trips that had to unfortunately be cut from the budget this year. Field trips are not only fun but enrich our children’s educational experience! We would also like to see new programs and events – things such as “Family Night”, a school dance, a “Go Green Campaign” and Environmental Educational activities, an Outing Club, etc.Contact us at or contact an officer directly from our Contact page.GPTO Bylaws
